About Us
Meet Josh & Carolyn…
From an early age, both Josh and Carolyn Thomas grew up with a passion and love for simple country living. This evolved into eating amazing home-cooked meals, planting plentiful gardens, taking care of animals and taking great pride in living the “homesteader” lifestyle.
The very first tiny garden they grew together started on a balcony in a city apartment over 15 years ago. Fast forward to the present, and now their own garden has transformed and grown (along with the size of their family) to a thriving country homestead that takes care of their desire to live a simple, healthy and sustainable life.
Josh and Carolyn now live on 40 beautiful acres of land in North Idaho, raising all of their own meat, 90% of all dairy products and 75% of all their own fruit and vegetables. And they’re doing it with all-natural methods, while taking care of a growing family of 10!
As a Certified Permaculture Designer and consultant with an architecture degree and 25+ years experience building custom homes and property management, Josh has a passion to help people implement holistic design into their surroundings to make their lives more resilient and sustainable. He is also an avid gardener and raises heritage grass-fed beef and lamb for his friends and family.
After college Carolyn has spent the last 15 years studying the traditional arts of domestic management, including herbal medicine, historical and modern food preservation, traditional cooking and food preparation, natural parenting, home education and textile arts. She is currently working on receiving her Permaculture Design Certificate and developing herbal and perennial food gardens custom tailored to her families needs and environment.
Together they have a passion to be great stewards of the land while nurturing health and abundance in their family and friends lives while also sharing the incredible lessons they have learned along the way.
Now Josh and Carolyn are sharing their passion and love for sustainable living, healthy eating and simple country goodness with you in the hopes that they can inspire and help you along your journey to a healthier and more abundant homesteading lifestyle.
